On Singular Cubic Surfaces

We study global log canonical thresholds of cubic surfaces with canonical singularities, and we prove the existence of a Kähler–Einstein metric on two singular cubic surfaces.

Generalized Eckardt Points.

All varieties are assumed to be projective and defined over a field of characteristic 0, unless mentioned. Main definitions and notations appear in [KMM] and [Sh93]. Classically, an Eckardt point is a point on a nonsingular cubic surface Σ at which three lines on this surface intersect each other. In other words, it is a point p on Σ such that there is an element in | − KΣ| which is a cone with...

Rational Points on Cubic Surfaces

Let k be an algebraic number eld and F (x0; x1; x2; x3) a non{singular cubic form with coeecients in k. Suppose that the pro-jective cubic k{surface X P 3 k given by F = 0 contains three coplanar lines deened over k, and let U (k) be the set of k{points on X which does not lie on any line on X. We show that the number of points in U (k), with height at most B, is OF;"(B 4=3+") for any " > 0.

Automorphism Groups on Normal Singular Cubic Surfaces with No Parameters

The classification of normal singular cubic surfaces in P3 over a complex number field C was given by J. W. Bruce and C. T. C. Wall. In this paper, first we prove their results by a different way, second we provide normal forms of normal singular cubic surfaces according to the type of singularities, and finally we determine automorphism groups on normal singular cubic surfaces with no parameters.

Critical Points of Functions on Singular Spaces

We compare and contrast various notions of the “critical locus” of a complex analytic function on a singular space. After choosing a topological variant as our primary notion of the critical locus, we justify our choice by generalizing Lê and Saito’s result that constant Milnor number implies that Thom’s af condition is satisfied.
